PAIDSOTF nabs Policeman and civilian for illegal drug trade in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 3, 2014-MPF News) --- The Provincial Anti Illegal Drug and Special Operation Task Force (PAIDSOTF) successfully arrested one policeman and another civilian in a separate drug buy-bust operation recently in this city.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) Provincial Director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said Tuesday that he commended the PAIDSOTF operatives headed by Senior Insp. Gerald Pilapil Aranas for the job well done against illegal drugs trafficking.

“The PNP Leadership will not allow members in the police force involve in illegal activities especially in illegal drugs or illegal gambling. I am requesting the civilian to continue helping us in our campaign against policemen involving illegal activities,” Ecaldre appealed.

Ecaldre said the suspects were arrested after weeklong surveillance operations by the task force following the information from their informant.



Ecaldre identified the arrested policeman as PO2 Julster Templa Y Pede aka Jojo, 32 years old, single, PNP member assigned at Margosatubig Municipal Police Station of this province and a resident of Purok Bougainvillea, San Pedro District, Pagadian City and one civilian identified as Journey Aballe Regis, 21 years old, single, a resident of Ozamis City.

In the initial investigation Ecaldre disclosed that PO2 Templa was arrested at the vicinity of Wharf Area, Purok Bagong Silang, Sta. Lucia District this city while Regis arrested at the City Plaza Luz. They were arrested in a separate operation after they were agreed to deliver the illegal drugs to the police officer as poseur drug buyer. 

Seized from their possession some illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia and mark money.

Ecaldre added that PO2 Templa before his arrest, was officially warned by his Municipal Police Station Chief Senior Insp. Jonathan Presto Lladoc for his continuously on and off duty for one month without official leave of absence and recently he was finally charge for administrative case due to the same offense.
Since January this year 3 policemen were already arrested in a buy-bust operation and we are eyeing two more policemen which is under surveillance, Ecaldre disclosed.       

The suspects were now temporary detained at ZSPPO locked-up cell while a case for violation of sec 5 and sec 11, article II of R.A. 9165 now being prepared for immediate filing the case to the prosecutor’s office.
