BFP Yuletide Seasons’ fire safety prevention campaign yield positive result

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Jan. 2 (PNA) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection’s (BFP) fire safety awareness and prevention campaign for a fire-free Yuletide Seasons has yielded positive results in this city.

Senior Insp. Reggie Olmedo, city fire marshal, issued this statement Friday, citing there was no fire incident reported or has occurred during the Yuletide Seasons here.

Olmedo said the campaign was in line with the BFP headquarters memorandum circular dubbed as “Operations Plant (Oplan) Paalala 2014.”

Olmedo said the memorandum circular tasked the fire marshals across the country to undertake fire prevention program during the Yuletide Season.

Olmedo said that part of the campaign was the distribution of fire prevention tips’ pamphlets and “giving out tips” through public address system as well as “ugnayan sa barangay” to remind the residents of their responsibilities for a safe and peaceful holiday season.

He said also included in the campaign was the prevention of firecrackers and pyrotechnics-related fire incidents.

Olmedo expressed his gratitude to the residents for their cooperation that resulted to a fire-free Yuletide Seasons.(PNA)
