Police, military tightens security measures in Pagadian City Fiesta Celebration

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Jan. 9, 2015-MPF News) – The joint police and military forces conducted a saturation drive at the coastal Barangay of Santa Lucia in this city following the tightened security implementation in Pagadian City starting Thursday afternoon, Police Official said.

Pagadian City Chief of Police Supt. Glenn Dulawan said Monday morning that the zoning operation was conducted as part of the security measures after they had gathered information about new faces believed to be criminals who have landed in the coastal barangay of Santa Lucia.

Dulawan commended the barangay officials for their cooperation, together with their Barangay police during the saturation drive that led to the successful result with no one was found violated the law.



The 8 coastal Barangay officials also expressed their assurance and support to the police and military’s efforts in maintaining the peace and order in their barangay level especially during the week-long celebration of Sto. Niño Parochial City Fiesta in the city during the security coordinating meeting headed by the chairman of the Committee on Police and Public Safety City Councilor Ernesto Mondarte.

The week-long celebration's kick-off will be today, Friday at 1:00 PM at the City Wharf Area through the re-enactment of the arrival of Sto Niño in Pagadian City followed by the community procession from Wharf area to the Sto. Niño Cathedral, for the enthronement of the Image of Senior Sto. Niño to the Parish Church then followed by the Novena community prayer at 5 PM.

The week-long fiesta activities will culminate on January 18 with this year’s them “Ang Batang Hesus Nagpakatawong Kabus, aron Matubos ang mga Kabus” (The Child Jesus was born poor to save the poorer).
