PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Jan. 26 (PNA) -- The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) has released P58.96 million to the provincial government of nearby Zamboanga Sibugay for the implementation of various infrastructure projects.

Lemuel Mejares, DILG regional information officer, said Monday the funds released represent 80 percent of the P73.7 million budget under PAMANA 2014 fund intended for peace and development intervention in conflict-vulnerable areas.

Mejares said that six of the 16 towns in Zamboanga Sibugay have been identified as recipients of the P58.96 million the agency has released.

Mejares identified the recipient towns as the following: Talusan, Imelda, Kabasalan, Naga, Ipil, and, R.T. Lim.

Mejares said the infrastructure projects that will be implemented by the six beneficiary-towns are roads, school buildings and water system projects.

He said the provincial government of Zamboanga Sibugay will oversee the implementation of the projects. (PNA)
