CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Jan. 26 (PNA) -- The Department of Interior and Local
Government (DILG) through the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) has
released P58.96 million to the provincial government of nearby Zamboanga
Sibugay for the implementation of various infrastructure projects.
Lemuel
Mejares, DILG regional information officer, said Monday the funds released
represent 80 percent of the P73.7 million budget under PAMANA 2014 fund
intended for peace and development intervention in conflict-vulnerable areas.
Mejares
said that six of the 16 towns in Zamboanga Sibugay have been identified as
recipients of the P58.96 million the agency has released.
Mejares
identified the recipient towns as the following: Talusan, Imelda, Kabasalan,
Naga, Ipil, and, R.T. Lim.
Mejares
said the infrastructure projects that will be implemented by the six
beneficiary-towns are roads, school buildings and water system projects.
He
said the provincial government of Zamboanga Sibugay will oversee the
implementation of the projects. (PNA)
