PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Aug. 13 (PNA) -– Almost half of Barangay Tawagan Sur in this city remained flooded today, Thursday, as the river in the village overflowed due to continuous downpour in the mountainous area of this city that started Thursday dawn.

Haron Damada, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer, told the Philippines News Agency there was no reported damage yet but classes at the Tawagan Sur National School were suspended.

Damada said that more than 50 hectares of rice field were submerged but there was no damage reported as of 2 p.m. Thursday.

He said CDRRMO personnel have been ordered to clear the drainage system in order for the flood water to rescind. (PNA)
