Zambo Sur declared as PRFD province

ZamboSur declared as Peaceful and Ready for
Further Development (PRFD) province.

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Aug. 12 (PNA) -– This province has been declared on Wednesday as a Peaceful and Ready for Further Development (PRFD) province.

The declaration was made through a joint resolution signed by Gov. Antonio Cerilles; Maj. Gen. Gerardo Barrientos, Army’s 1st Infantry Division commander; and, Chief Supt. Miguel Antonio Jr., Police Regional Office-9 director.

Cerilles said the declaration is a manifestation that the peace and order situation of the province has significantly improved and the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and the respective security measures are functioning effectively.

Cerilles said that with the declaration, the people have become aware and resilient in accepting their shared responsibility against threats and risks to public order and safety, and the armed threats and rebellion are too weak to influence its citizens and their way of life.

The joint signing ceremony, which was held at the Capitol Complex, was witnessed by Lt. Gen. Rustico Guerrero, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) chief; and, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Director Paisal Abutazil.

Also present during the ceremony were the mayors of this province’ 26 towns and one city, police officials, and representatives of the religious group, civil society organizations and the business community.

This province is the last to declare as PRFD here in the region.

The first to declare was Zamboanga Sibugay and was followed by Zamboanga del Norte. (PNA)
