ILIGAN
CITY (May 6. 2018) – A day before the campaign period for the candidates
aspiring for barangay chairmen and Sangguniang Kabataan in the province of
Lanao del Norte particularly in the municipality of Pantar and Baloi.
The
Local Government Units (LGUs) and the military initiated the signing of peace
covenant held at their respective municipal hall.
In
Pantar town, the peace covenant signed by the aspiring candidates and vowed to
for free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible elections .
Meanwhile,
an Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) for 17 years and a graduate of Bachelor of
Science in Public Adminstration , Hashim Macabantog went home and will try his luck in politics for the welfare
of the youth in his barangay. He said the signing of peace covenant which was
initiated by the Local Government Unit (LGU) and the military is laudable since
it is the required measures for the voters and the aspiring candidates to
adhere to the rules and regulations of the Comelec . He said his town particularly
is Barangay East Kalilangan is deprived of water and electricity since he was
still in his youth.
Captain
Jovane Roble, Commanding Officer of the 402nd Mechanized Infantry Company of
the 4th Mechanized Infantry Battalion in his message warned anybody who wants
to disrupt and make trouble and candidates who buy votes during elections will
be arrested.
He said
that the army is ready to respond any untoward incidents that may erupt anytime
while the conduct of elections is ongoing.
Roble also said that standby scout rangers are on standby for the
augmentation with his troops in the town of Pantar.
In
Balo-I town, Captain Roble reiterated his message to the voters and candidates
for SK and Barangay Chairmen. Mayor Elias Ali also appealed to the candidates
to follow what the Comelec and the military for a better and successful conduct
of elections mandate.
