PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (July
3, 2018) – AFP Chief
of Staff General Carlito Galvez, Jr. repeatedly reminded the soldiers to manage
their finances properly and refrain from having multiple loans, this is his
message to the troops of the Joint Task Forces Basilan and Zamboanga during his
consecutive visit Sunday July 1, 2018, WesMinCom Official said.

spokesperson LTC Gerry M. Besana said that in Basilan, General Galvez also
mentioned about the forthcoming change of leadership whereby Brigadier General
Juvymax Uy will be designated as the Assistant Division Commander of the 6th
Infantry Division and Colonel Fernando Reyeg will take over as the JTF Basilan
commander.
LTC Besana
also said, the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees of the two
JTFs respectively welcomed General Galvez.
The JTF
officers gave him an operational update on the ongoing military campaign in
preventing and countering violent extremism, Besana added.
Besana said
that CSAFP Galvez concluded by commending the troops of both JTFs for their
numerous accomplishments and encouraged them to exert more effort to attain
lasting peace in Mindanao.
