PNP-SAF OPENS 4 COMMANDO COURSE CLASSES



QUEZON CITY (July 19, 2018) - Philippine National Police Chief, Director General Oscar David Albayalde personally graced and led the opening ceremony of the Special Action Force Commando Course (SAFCC) Classes 81, 82, 83 and 84-2018 yesterday, July 18, at SAFTB, Fort Sto. Domingo, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

The Chief PNP emphasized the PNP-SAF will enhance its operational capability and efficiency in performing its mandate and functions.

“These additional forces will be utilized in curbing criminality and terrorism in line with our President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s order. In total, PNP Special Action Force is now currently training 1920 recruits to fill up five battalions.

He said the PNP elite unit enlivens its virtue to serve God, Country and People with utmost excellence living up with the SAF motto, “By skill and Virtue, We Triumph”.

"We must be bolder, tougher, stronger and faster than the evil elements we are fighting against. We thus need men and women in the police force who will live up to demands of the job and the expectations of the people we serve and protect," Albayalde said.

Moreover, the PNP Special Action Force said the new breed of commandos will be trained for almost 20 months, and these include the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC), Public Safety Field Training Program (PSFTP), and SAF Commando Course (SAFCC).

The PNP elite unit revealed that the first two battalions will be activated in September 2019, followed by two more battalions which will be launched in November 2019, and the last battalion is set to activate in February 2020.

On February 2, 2018, NAPOLCOM has approved the Resolution 2018-027 “Strengthening of the PNP Special Action Force' which the Philippine National Police is tasked to form five (5) more Special Action Battalions.
