Naval Forces Western Mindanao connects with the community of Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay

PAGADIAN CITY (Aug.16, 2018) – The Naval Forces Western Mindanao reached out to the community of Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay, on August 13, 2018 in time with the celebration of the Patronal Fiesta of the municipality, Military Official said.

Ensign Jesca May P Viduya PN, Public Affairs Officer, disclosewd that the Team NavForWem with the Civil Military operations Unit-Western Mindanao and Marine Battalion Landing Team 11 led the conduct of Feeding activity to the 200 day care pupils of Olutanga Day Care Center and free haircut services to the locals of the said municipality. The feeding activity was made possible by the stakeholders from Ateneo De Zamboanga University and Mega Global Inc who also donated cans of sardines to the community.

Ensign Viduya said that prior to the outreach activity, the Civil Military Operations Officer of NFWM, Cpt Reyson O Talingdan PN (M) with Lt Raymund Salcedo PN, Commanding Officer of CMOU-WM rendered courtesy call to the Olutanga Municipal Mayor Arthur P Ruste Sr and other LGU officials. 

She added that a friendly game between Olutanga LGUs, PNP and Philippine Navy was held which serves as an avenue of building a stronger relationship and connection with the community through sports activity.

Later in the afternoon, the constituents of Olutanga was entertained by the lively performance of the NFWM Band which is also participated by the local singers of the municipality, Ensign Viduya also said.

The continuous presence of the Fleet-Marine Team aids in promoting peace and development in the area and also strengthen the bond and trust of the community with the military and AFP as a whole, Ensign Viduya explained. (By JONG CADION with PR anf photos from PIO-NFWM )
