Mass Surrender of Loose Firearms in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay



KABASALAN, Zamboanga Sibugay (Oct 17, 2018) - Mass Surrender of Loose Firearms was held at Kabasalan Municipal SB Session Hall, Brgy. Salipyasin, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay on October 11, 2018 at about 1:00 in the afternoon, Pollice official said.

Police Regional Office 9 PIO Chief PCINSP Helen L. Galvez discxlosed that the activity was initiated by PINSP Mac Kenley A Mayomis, OIC of Kabasalan MPS, and attended by Police Senior Supt. Nestor Y. Tiempo, PD, ZSBPPO; LT COL JONATHAN P OBENA, Commander, 44th IB, PA, 1LT Bryan Sonny S. Arlegui, Commanding Officer, Bravo Coy, 44th IB, PA, Municipal Mayor Isagani Balladares and Sangguniang Bayan Members of Kabasalan and also participated by Barangay Chairman officials from different Barangays of this municipality.

Galvez said that there are a total of Forty-Nine assorted long and short firearms and six Magazines for 12 Gauge (Homemade) which was surrendered to the PNP, described as follows:
Thirteen units 12 Gauge Improvised Shotgun,
Twelve units Homemade Cal .38 revolver,
One-unit Homemade Cal. 3516 Revolver,
        Four units Homemade Cal. 357 Revolver
Five units Homemade Cal. 12 Gauge Pistol,
Seven units Marble Gun,
        Two units Homemade Cal. 5.56mm Revolver,
        One-unit Cal. 22 without Revolver,
        One unit Improvised Cal. 30mm Garand,
        Three units Homemade Cal. 22 Revolver and
         Six Homemade Magazines for Cal. 12 Gauge

Galvez added that during the ceremony, the participants were informed of the laws in possessing the firearms. Likewise urged the public that all those unlicensed and unregistered firearms must be surrendered either to the PNP or AFP to ensure the peace and tranquility in the community.

After the said activity, inventory was conducted and those loose firearms which were surrendered to the PNP were turnover to Provincial Logistics Branch for proper disposition.
