PRO-9 Units who operates against ASG and Criminal Gangs, Awarded

PAGADIAN CITY (Oct. 17, 2018) - The Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9) under the stewardship of PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D Licup, Regional Director has awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan to the Fourteen uniformed personnel of PRO-9 who carried out police operation against Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) and criminal gangs operating in Zamboanga Peninsula during the Monday Flag-raising ceremony held at PRO-9 Parade Ground, Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on October 8, 2018.

Police Regional Office 9 PIO Chief PINSP Helen L. Galvez disclosed that the awarded policer officers were:

PSUPT Gilbert Nino Manese,

PINSP Kent Gudmalin and

PO3 Joseph Ryan Jalon, all from the Isabela City Police Station, The were awarded for the arrest of Omaidie S. Salain, Abu Sayyaf member, Urban Terrorist Group member under Basilan based ASG and included in Zamboanga City Police Office list of gun for hire personality during the conduct of law enforcement operation against most wanted person at Purok Stairway, Barangay Sumagdang, Isabela City, Basilan at about 8:45pm of September 6, 2018.

PCINSP Al-Reiza Kinang,

PO1 Carigold Flora Allado and

PO1 Lea Jane Damian, all from the Regional Intelligence Unit 9 were awarded for the arrest of ASG member identified as Nasir Daud during law enforcement operation on August 23, 2018 at Barangay Sta. Barbara, Zamboanga City.

The arrested ASG is one of the suspects in the kidnapping of a businessman in Barangay Pasonanca in January 2004.

PCINSP Heidel Te-elan,

SPO1 Roderick Flores and

PO2 Noriel Laureta, all from Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Mobile Company, awarded for the arrest of notorious Sabtal cri0m0inal gang group identified as Zomar Sabtal and Mukasid Sabtal operating in Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga Del Sur during the conduct of seaborne patrol operation on September 10, 2018 at the seawater of Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

PSINSP Nedzfar Hassan and

PO3 Ahmad Mizar Alfad, both from 903rd Maneuvering Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 were also awarded for the successful conduct of joint Intel driven operation on September 5, 2018 at Barangay Baguindan, Tipo-Tipo, Basilan which led to the surrendered of Jul-Amin Anundun aka Abu Mamin/Abu Khalifa, an IED expert and member of Basilan based ASG under Furuji Indama.
