PAGADIAN CITY - For the first time, Gov. Victor Yu visited the headquarters of Special Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit Active Auxiliary (SCAA) in Midsalip town on July 26 to personally give sacks of rice and allowances, provincial official disclosed,

Jesrel Jess Himang, provincial information chief said the SCAA is composed of a hundred members was reactivated by Gov. Yu, T%he SCAA was formed by the 53rd Infantry Battalion under the command of ex-Governor Cerilles last February, three months before the midterm polls, which became controversial due to allegations that they were used for political agenda by the previous administration.

Lt. Col Ryan Severo said that the said special forces had a direct command from the 53rdIB under the leadership of Lt. Col Marlowe Patria and strongly denied the speculation that they were used politically.

“Yung request nang provincial government ay para ma-maintain yung peace and order ng Zamboanga del Sur, hindi ito para sa personal na interes ng sinumang politician o private individual,” Severo refuted.

Gov. Victor Yu appreciated the presence of the special forces since it will augment the military efforts to continually preserve the peace and order of the province.

The governor renewed the contract of SCAA that expired last May and opened opportunities for them through a monthly compensation of P7,500 including rice allowance in exchange of their 20-day duty at their assigned detachment.

Yu made this to let them feel that they were not left behind and that the administration cares for their livelihood.

The SCAA members expressed their gratitude to Gov. Yu for it is the first time that they were visited personally by the province’s top leader who is ready to respond for their welfare. (By JONG CADION with ZDSPPB press release and photos)
