PAGADIAN CITY - Kareen Sokolov, the mother carrying her child Timothy together with Yaya Caroline Remetre 17 on her side escorted by the Police operatives arrived at the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) in Pagadian City after they were freed by their abductors yesterday afternoon, February 8, 2013 in Ozamiz City.

The victims were presented by PNP Provincial Director P/SSUPT Thomas Abellar to the media few minutes after their arrival at the Provincial Director’s Headquarter in Camp Abelon here.
"They were released by the kidnappers near Ozamiz City at about 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon, less than 36 hours after the incident,” PD Abellar told the reporters.
It was learned that on February 7 at about 6:30 early morning the abductors covered the mouth and nose of the Yaya with a cloth containing chemicals that made her unconscious during the abduction in the vicinity of Rosario Homes Subdivision.

They were already inside the kubo or nipa hut in a disclosed village when Caroline, the Yaya got conscious. She heard a conversation from their abductors with the woman saying that “Bakit yan ang dinala ninyo, hindi naman mayaman yan” and later abandoned them along the road side. They were able to ride a van thru the help of a certain person in the area until they arrived at the city proper in Ozamiz particularly near Gaisano Mall, police said in an initial investigation.

They were secured by a policeman after confirming that they were the kidnapped victims and reported immediately to the Anti Kidnapping Task Force.

Immediately after receiving the reports, the joint government operatives led by the Anti Kidnapping Task Force conducting the hot pursuit operations proceeded to Ozamiz City and brought them back to this city.
The hot pursuit operation was still in progress in tracking down the fleeing suspects while the case of kidnapping was being prepared against the perpetrators.

The Yaya of Timothy was still in the state of shock during their presentation to the media.
Kareen also told the reporters that it is not true that her husband is managing the mining firm in Surigao Province, instead he is only a mere employee of a company in Davao City.
