PNP, Army, Arescom, BJMP, BFP joins the Fun-run in celebration of WIHW in Pagadian City





PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – On the 4th day of the week-long celebration of 2nd World Interfaith Harmony Week, the Pagadian City Police, Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office lead the 5-K Fun-Run Wednesday morning.

City Police Community Relation Officer Police Inspector Psyche VI L. Barroquillo said the Fun-run activity was jointly conducted by the men in uniform in the government service as their support of the celebration of 2nd World Interfaith Harmony Week as mandated in the Republic Act 10525.

Barroquillo said the Fun-run started 5:00 AM at the City Plaza Taklobo Stage thru a simple program and warm-up exercises. It was started from City Plaza Luz passing along Urro Street going to Padap Dao road going up to the Unity Park located at the upper portion of the city inside the compound of the Provincial Government Center in Barangay Dao.

The fun-run was also participated by the Personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Buearu of Fire Protection (BFP), the Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion of the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division, the Army’s 547th Engineering Battalion and the ROTC and Intern Criminology Students from different schools in the city.

This year theme: "Strengthening Love for God and Love One other: A celebration of hope for Life, Peace and Solidarity"


The RA 10525 was approved on April 23 2013 declaring the first week of
February 1-7 of every year as “World Interfaith Harmony Week” in the entire county and mandated all government agencies and institutionalities including government owned and controlled corporations as well as the local government units to carry out the observance of activities designed to advance the message of interfaith harmony and goodwill in accordance with religious traditions and practices.
