According to Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of Western Mindanao Command, combined elements of the Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi and Sitangkai Municipal Police Station conducted anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Panglima Alari, Sitangkai at about 10 in the morning, Monday.
Said operation resulted in the arrest of Ahmas Amiril, a.k.a. Tot’s, 40 years old, married, and Likli Nurjiri, 37, married both residents of Panglima Alari; and Arnie Saham Mudam, 37, married, resident of Barangay Datu Baguinah Putih, same municipality.
Lt. Col. Aladdin Caluza, Commanding Officer of Marine Battalion Landing Team 12 said operating troops seized from the arrested personalities’ possession three heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance weighing more or less 26.65 grams and with an estimated value amounting to PhP181, 220.00.
Also seized were three cellular phones, cash amounting to PhP3, 600.00, one cal. 45 pistol with magazine, and other drug paraphernalia.
Apprehended personalities and seized items were brought to Sitangkai MPS for proper disposition and filing of criminal charges for violation of RA 9165 otherwise known as “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”.
“Together with our partner agencies, Team WestMinCom fervently implements the anti-illegal drug campaign of the national government to ensure that a significant headway in our fight against illegal drugs here in Mindanao is achieved,” said Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr.
Since January 2021, Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi neutralized a total of 11 drug personalities, two of whom were killed and nine were apprehended. (By JONG CADION with report and photos from WestMinCom-PIO)
