KUTA SANG-AN, LABANGAN,
Zamboanga del Sur – The joint AFP
and PNP intelligence units, local PNP & the Army’s Special Forces Company
successfully arrested a notorious Abu Sayyaf member identified as alias Abu
Jaid or Ajing charged with kidnapping and murder.
The arrest was conducted by
the joint government operatives thru a warrant of arrest in Brgy. Port area,
Isabela City Basilan Province Thursday morning on November 22, 2012.
Alias Abu
Jaid or Ajing was involved in the
2001 kidnapping and the beheading of two workers of the Golden Harvest Plantation
in Brgy. Talairan Lantawan Basilan.
The warrant of arrest
against the bandit was issued by the 9th Judicial Region Branch 1
Judge Leo Jay T. Principi. He was brought to Zamboanga City for proper
disposition.
Meanwhile, 1st
Infantry (TABAK) Division, Philippine Army Commander Maj. General Ricardo
Rainier G. Cruz III lauded the involved troops of the Special Forces Company
and the intelligence units for the arrest of Abu Jaid/Ajing. “This is the fruit of our Bayanihan in our
communities, and strong support from our local officials”. MGen Cruz said.
