PRO9 moves forward on “Project Double Barrel, Reloaded”

ZAMBOANGA CITY (April 6, 2017) - With the resumption of the PNP anti-illegal drugs campaign “Double Barrel Reloaded”, the Police Regional Office 9 under the helm of PCSupt. Billy B. Beltran, Regional Director, gains headway as it was able to neutralized 564 drug personalities, and conducted 9, 886 house visitations.

PRO9 Information Officer PSupt. Rogelio C. Alabata disclosed that a total of 334 individuals personally appeared and surrendered to the different police stations in Zamboanga Peninsula for processing, 319 of which are drug users and 15 are drug pushers. A total of 227 individuals were arrested, 26 of them are drug users and 201 are drug pushers. Three also died during police operations, all covering the period from March 6 – April 3, 2017.

Moreover, a total of 432 sachets of suspected Shabu and eight (8) firearms were confiscated during the conduct of Anti-illegal Drugs Operations. 

The fight against illegal drugs is a shared responsibility of everyone. It is the fight of the people and the PNP is the front liner in waging this people’s fight, PSupt. Alabata added.

As such, the PNP appeals to the public to continuously support the anti-illegal drugs campaign.

PCSupt. Beltran urges the public to support and help the police in waging war against illegal drugs by reporting to the authorities the existence of illegal drug trade and drug personalities, as well as any involvement of PNP personnel in illegal drug trade through the PNP hotline and KKK Mobile Application.
