ZAMBOANGA
CITY (September 24, 2017) - Soldiers of the Western Mindanao Command
donated blood for battle casualties who are fighting at the forefront in Marawi
City, military official said.
Personnel of
the WestMinCom participated in the bloodletting activity held at the WestMinCom
gymnasium in Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city at around 8am Saturday
(September 23).
Western
Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) information officer Cpt Jo-Ann D. Petinglay disclosed
that the said bloodletting was organized by the Office of the Assistant Chief
of Unified Command Staff for Civil-Military Operations, OU7, to benefit the
wounded soldiers and to commemorate the 11th founding anniversary of the
WestMinCom. This was held in conjunction with the National Peace Consciousness
Month observed every September under Proclamation No. 675.
Cpt.
Petinglay said that among those who donated were soldiers of the Task Force
Zamboanga, 54th ECBde, 3TOC, and Naval Forces Western Mindanao. The said
activity was facilitated by personnel of the Zamboanga City Medical Center.
“This good
deed bridges the lives of our wounded comrades who braved the battleground. Our
gratitude goes to those who have donated blood for the sake of our battle
casualties,” said Lieutenant General Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., Commander of the
Western Mindanao Command.
