Php11.4-M worth of shabu, high powered firearms, ammunition and explosives were sized and arrested 5-lawless in two-days joint pursuit operation in Zamboanga Sibugay

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (March 14, 2019) – A total of Php11.4 million worth of illegal drugs, high powered firearms, ammunition and explosives were seized while five lawless elements were apprehended in a two days joint law enforcement pursuit operation by the Army’s 44th Infantry Battalion, 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, PNP, PDEA, NBI and Philippine Coast Guard in Brgy. Tenan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, military official disclosed 
.
“Today at about 10:00 a.m, March 14, 2019, during the pursuit, the two apprehended personalities yielded several plastic heat sealed sachets that contain crystalline substance suspected as Shabu with an estimated street value of P1.2 Million and drug paraphernalia”, said Lt. Col. Don Templonuevo, 44th Infantry Battalion Commander.

Templonuevo identified the arrested the arrested persononalities as Hashim Samdani y Lucas and Jay-ar Quartocruz y Abba.

Yesterday, Wednesday’s joint law enforcement operation resulted to the arrest of three lawless elements in the same barangay and the confiscation of one caliber M-16 rifle, two handguns, explosives, ammunitions, several plastic heat sealed sachets that contain crystalline substance suspected as Shabu weighing 1.5 kilos with an estimated street value of P10.2 Million and drug paraphernalia from the lawless element.

“This is a continuing effort together with other law enforcement agencies against the lawless groups. We will ensure that the long arms of the law will catch all of them and bring them to bar of justice,” said Col. Bagnus Gaerlan, Jr., 102nd Infantry Brigade Commander.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Roberto Ancan, commander of 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division for his part, lauded the efforts of 102nd Brigade, 44th Infantry Battalion and other law enforcement agencies involved in the joint law enforcement operation.

“This is the result of our intensified joint law enforcement operation with other agencies and stakeholders,” Brig. Gen. Ancan said.



“Let us continue to work together to stop lawlessness and violence in Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao provinces and push for the sustainable developmental efforts of our government,” Ancan concluded.
