PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur, Feb. 8 (PNA) -- The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) over
the weekend kicked-off its tax campaign in a bid to improve revenue collections
in this province.
The tax campaign was
launched Friday through a simple program held at the Liga ng mga Barangay
Convention Center here.
The launching of the
tax campaign was jointly spearheaded by BIR regional director Alert Alocilja
and Revenue district officer Rodrigo Calid.
The 2014 tax campaign
is anchored on the theme “I Pay My Taxes Right, It’s as easy as register file
pay (RFP).”

The launching was
attended by provincial and city government officials, and representatives from
the different national government agencies, business community and barangay
officials.
Alocilja said covered
in the RFP campaign are the self-employed professionals, individuals engaged in
business, individuals practicing a profession like physicians, architects,
accountants, freelance professionals and online sellers.
“We are requesting
all tax payers that if there are some inquiries, please visit the BIR office or
visit our website at www.knowyourtaxes.ph or call us in our hot line at
981-8888 before the deadline,” Alocija said.
He reminded the tax
payers that the deadline for filing the annual income tax is on April 15.
The launching program
culminated with the signing of pledge of support participated in by the city
and provincial government officials, national government agencies, non-government
organizations and civil society organizations.(PNA)
