MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (Feb. 16, 2016) --- ARMM Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman and Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong, Jr. led the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the fully operational Ramain Bridge on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Municipality of Bubong, Lanao del Sur.

The bridge has a total length of 61.36 meters and a width of 7.32 meters is located along the Lake Lanao Circumferential Road was constructed in the year 1969 was rehabilitated and upgraded in 2015 per request of Governor Adiong to the Department of Public Works and Highways of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
According to Engr. Ote Macabando who supervised the project in behalf of the provincial government of Lanao del Sur, the DPWH-ARMM released the amount of Php 12.3 Million for the Ramain Bridge from their 2014 infrastructure funds.

He added that a Memorandum of Agreement was entered into by both parties in 2014.

Governor Adiong also said it would now be easier for the residents of the first district of Lanao del Sur to go to Marawi City and the other parts of the province with the rehabilitation of the bridge.

Before the residents of the towns located in the first district had to take a farther detour with limited space just to get to Marawi City when the slabs and riprap of the bridge became dilapidated due to time this caused inconvenience to motorists that included traffic and a longer route to their destination.

Regional Governor Hataman said it is the commitment of President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino, III that ARMM becomes a progressive region with developed provinces and cities.
