Police units who arrest ASG members in Zamboanga City, awarded

ZAMBOANGA CITY (March 19, 2018) - Twenty (20) uniformed personnel from the different PNP units in Police Regional Office 9 (PRO-9) were awarded for “Medalya ng Kagalingan” during Monday Flag-Raising and Awarding Ceremony at PRO9 Headquarter, Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City at about 8:00 AM of Monday (March 19), official said.

ZCPO-PRO9 PCInsp Helen L Galvez disclosed that the awardees are PSUPT Ferjen Torred, PSINSP Alan Y Perpetua, SPO2 Glenn Jumbing Pastorfide, SPO1 Henry Cavan and PO2 Irene Balansag, cited for the arrest of an ASG member identified as Said Arasid at Barangay Binuangan, Isabela City on February 14, 2018.

PCINSP Hazel Fernandez, SPO3 Eduardo Covarruvias, PO3 Joel De Leon, PO1 Noel Andrade and PO1 Edgar Gaganting, all of Zamboanga City Police Station 4 (Culianan), cited for the arrest of notorious ASG member identified as Rocco Hamman at La Purisima Street, Zamboanga City on February 13, 2018.

PSINSP Melvin Solmayor, SPO3 Eric Villon, SPO1 Eric Magoncia, PO1 Ronel Etrone and PO1 Ronnie Jesus Gayagoy, cited for the arrest of another ASG member identified as Hood Salvador Abdulla at Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City on January 26, 2018.

On the other hand, SPO2 Jess Rick Mendoza, SPO1 Ronnie Baird, SPO1 Asraf Halipa, PO3 Sali Abel and PO2 Almonjade Luddin, cited for the arrest of two ASG members identified as Susung Salahuddin and Arsid Salahuddin at Zaragosa Street, Zamboanga City on February 15, 2018.

PCInsp Galvez said that the above-mentioned arrested ASG members were involved in the Golden Harvest Kidnapping Incident on June 11, 2011 at Barangay Tairan, Lantawan Basilan. 

With This, PCSUPT Billy B Beltran, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 9, commended the above-mentioned PNP personnel for a job well done.
