Western Mindanao Command Chief Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., disclosed that the Joint elements of the 34th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region XII, and the Philippine National Police conducted a law enforcement operation to serve a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 against a High-Value Target (HVT) lawless armed group member in Sitio Patendiguin, Barangay Pantar, Banilisian, Cotabato.
The said law enforcement operation successfully led to the apprehension of the HVT identified as Tanto Tidong, a.k.a. Tanto Talib, 40 years old, married, and a resident of the same barangay.
The Operating troops raided Tidong’s residence and recovered one Cal. 45 pistol with and one magazine and six rounds cartridge ball, and 14 pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be Methamphetamine Hydrochloride locally known as “Shabu” weighing more or less 15 grams and with an estimated value of Php102, 000.00, 34IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Glen Loreto Caballero, of also said.
Meanwhile, 602nd Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Roberto Capulong added that Tidong is a notorious illegal-drug trader who belongs to an armed lawless group that operates in North Cotabato. He also has established connections with the high-valued illegal-drug personalities in Maguindanao.
The apprehended personality and the confiscated items were brought to Banilisan Municipal Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges and proper disposition.
