The second placer was
a family from Zamboanga Sibugay, third place from this city, and the fourth
place a family from Zamboanga del Norte.
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug 9
(PNA) -- A couple with seven children from the Municipality of Labangan,
Zamboanga del Sur, has been adjudged as the regional winner in the search for
the Huwaran Pantawid Pamilya 2014 of the Department of Social Welfare and
Development (DSWD).
The couple, Mr. and
Mrs. Renato Gituayan received P2,000 cash prize and a certificate from the DSWD
in an awarding ceremony held Friday night in one of the local hotels in this
city.
As the regional
winner, the Gituayan family will represent the region in the national
competition for the Huwaran Pantawid Pamilya 2014 to be held next month in
Manila.
The search is aimed
to recognize families who are members of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program
(4Ps) with good standing in the community and compliant with the 4Ps
regulations.
The criteria of the
competition are as follows: a family that maintains a strong harmonious
relationship, 25 percent; a family that promotes healthy living and care for
the environment, 20 percent; a family that is actively involved in the
community, 20 percent; a family that inspires other members of the community,
20 percent; and, a family that strives to improve their living condition
despite the difficult situation, 15 percent.
The board of judges
were the following: Dominique Sanchez, Philippine Information Agency; Tessie
Dela Cruz, Department of Health regional information officer; Victoria Alohado,
former dean of the Western Mindanao State University’s College of Social Work;
Fini Joy Buenante, WMSU Guidance Counselor; and, Orlando Adjarani, Interfaith
