(Sept. 10, 2018) – The Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM), other
military units and local partner stakeholders embarked on an All-In-One-Mission
to the community of Brgy Igat, Margosatubig municipality in Zamboanga del Sur,
Sept. 7, 2018, Navy Official said.

Admiral Rene V. Medina, NFWM Commander disclosed
that the All-in-One Mission with the theme “Your Navy is your partner for Peace
and Development/ Kauban Ninyo ang Inyong Navy sa Kalinaw Ug Paglambo” was made
possible by the Sailors and Marines from Naval Forces Western Mindanao, Civil Military
Operations Unit – Western Mindanao, corpsmen from Marine Battalion Landing Team
11, reservists from Naval Reserve Center –Western Mindanao, Medical team from
AFP Health Service - South, 53rd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, and
partners-stakeholders from Mega Global Inc., ARCA Manpower Services and Ophthalmologists
from Crystal Clear Vision Optimal Clinic.

Admiral Medina said the heavy rainfall and difficult steep road access has been
a challenge for the CMO operators in reaching the far-flung community of Brgy.
Igat in Margosatubig but this did not stopped this men in uniform in providing
assistance and services to the community. Services offered during the activity
were free medical consultation and giving of prescribed medications, free eye
check-up and eye glasses, Operation Tuli, Feeding Program, free haircut, film
showing and musical entertainment rendered by the NFWM Combo which was enjoyed
by the locals. Dialogue with the community was also initiated by the Team
NavForWeM.
This
CMO initiatives is in support to Higher Headquarters’ development support and
security plan “KAPAYAPAAN 2017-2022” in promoting peace, ensuring security,
helping maintain public order and supporting the overall development initiatives
of the government. Medina added.
NFWM
commander said that the efforts of the Sailors and Marines aboard the Western
Mindanao Area of Responsibility is concurrent with stand of the Philippine Navy
to sustain and strengthen its maritime patrol to protect and secure the
Philippine waters while also building rapport and connection with the community
of Western Mindanao. Also, this activities forms part of the month-long
celebration of the Command’s 22nd Anniversary on September 27, 2018. (By JONG CADION)
