DepEd commends Pagadian City 4Ps beneficiaries for joining Brigada Eskwela

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, June 2 (PNA) – The Department of Education (DepEd) has commended the thousands of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries for supporting the conduct of the National Schools Maintenance Week or the “Brigada Eskwela” in this city.

City Schools Division Administrative Officer David Lingue said Monday the participation of the 4Ps beneficiaries in the Brigada Eskwela contributed a lot to the different schools.

This city, which comprises of 54 barangays, has a total of 60 public elementary and 19 secondary schools.

Lingue said that it also binds the community to work together “for the welfare of our school children.”


“It is through voluntarism works of activities that strengthen relationship in a community,” Lingue commented.

Lingue noted that the Brigada Eskwela has served as an avenue for the people to know each other, especially teachers and parents, and to find solution to problems pertaining pupils’ behavior and performance in school.

City Social Welfare and Development Officer-in-Charge Teresita Roldan said there are more than 10,000 4Ps beneficiaries in this city.

Roldan was happy to note that the 4Ps beneficiaries positively replied to their request to join the week-long Brigada Eskwela. (PNA)
