PAGADIAN CITY (Dec.
15, 2018)– – On December 14, 2018, the Officers, men and civilian
employees of Naval Forces Western Mindanao rendered funeral honors to the
remains of the late Marine soldier who was killed during an operation in Minis
Island, Patikul, Sulu.

Admiral Rene V. Medina AFP, NFWM commsnder disclosed that the late Sgt
Randy B Cariaso PN(M) was a member of the 62nd Marine Company operating in the
island of Sulu. While conducting clearing operations, said troops from 62nd
Marine Company encountered an undetermined number of Abu Sayyaf Group members
in the area where SgtCariaso was unfortunately killed in action.
NFWM
and the Armed Forces of the Philippines as a whole express their sympathy to
the family of the fallen marine hero who bravely sacrificed his life to end the
fight against the Abu Sayyaf Group and other Lawless Terrorists Groups. His
comrades assure that his death will not be in vain; that they will carry on the
fight to bring back the peace in the Western Mindanao region.(By
