DTI-Zambo Sur partners with Robinsons in launching Presyong Risonable Dapat Program

PAGADIAN CITY – (January 10, 2019) - Robinsons Supermarket-Pagadian partners with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), and National Food Authority (NFA) in implementing its Presyong Resonable Dapat (PRD) Program.

DTI Provincial Director Engr. Al-Zamir I. Lipae disclosed that under the Presyong Risonable Dapat program, well-milled rice will be available at Php39.00 below per kilo. Refined sugar is also available at only Php50.00 per kilo.

Lipae added that the program is one of the government’s measures to mitigate the effects of inflation on food prices, and also serves as an answer to President Rodrigo Duterte’s call to make affordable rice available by removing non-tariff barriers and streamlining administrative procedures on the importation of agricultural products.

Ms. Lenoelle Anne Amancio, Manager of Robinsons Pagadian also said that their initial 100kg well-milled rice arrived last January 4, 2019 but was sold out within 2 days from its display.

The second batch of eight hundred (800) kilogram well-milled rice and five hundred (500) kilogram sugar is expected to arrive this Saturday (January 12, 2019) and would already be available for the consuming public, Amancio said. She also stated that their stocks shall be dependent on the market demand but would make sure that they will not run out of it.

Prices of well-milled rice sold in Robinsons Pagadian is at P34.00 and P37.00 while refined sugar is at P50.00 respectively. Well-milled rice can be purchased thru 10kg bags or per kilo basis, she added.

PD Lipae said that the PRD Program is in l;ine with the Administrative Order 13, and Republic Act No. 7581 or the “Price Act” aims to develop, adopt and promulgate measures to stabilize prices at reasonable levels. It also calls to “ensure the availability of basic necessities and prime commodities at reasonable prices at all times without denying legitimate business a fair return on investment.” (By JONG CADION with PR from dtizds-jnl)
