PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur, Oct. 9 (PNA) -– The Department of the Interior and Local
Government (DILG) has advised all barangay officials to
prioritize climate
change preparedness in their agenda in the forthcoming Synchronized Barangay
Assembly.
DILG-9 RD Paisal O. Abotazil |
DILG Regional
Director Paizal Abutazil issued the advice Thursday as he called on the
barangay officials--chairman to councilman--to attend the Synchronized Barangay
Assembly on Sunday, October 12.
The assembly will be
held in their respective barangays.
Abutazil said the
Barangay Assembly is the right “venue to talk and to know on the latest
development and accomplishments of our respective barangays.”
“As much as possible
during the Barangay Assembly, they should discuss major issues and concerns
especially climate change preparedness,” Abutazil said.
“Down to barangay
level, constituents must have level of preparedness. It is best time to discuss
precautionary and preventive measures during the assembly,” he added.
He said another issue
they should tackle during the assembly is peace and security. (PNA)
