PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur, Oct. 15 (PNA) -– The Department of the Interior and Local
Government (DILG) has scheduled a training workshop on applied geo-tagging of
Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA)-DILG funded sub-projects in this city.
The workshop, which
will be held from October 22-23, aims to orient the participants on the actual
operations and important details of the geo-tagging devices and to train them
on the procedures in the use and conduct of actual geo-tagging.
DILG Regional
Director Paisal Abutazil said the participants include the Cluster Heads,
provincial PAMANA focal persons and city and municipal local government
operations officers from 21 local government units (LGUs) throughout the
region.
Abutazil said the
DILG, as the prime mover in promoting transparency and accountability, is
advocating the use of applied geo-tagging to ensure that there is no project
duplication and no ghost projects.
“The application of
the technology as an initiative of the Department through the Office of Project
Development Services can speed up the monitoring of project implementation and
progress,” he added. (PNA)
