PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur, Sept. 24 (PNA) -– The local police have filed criminal
charges on Tuesday before the City Prosecutor’s Office against three people who
were behind the shipment of more than P100,000 worth of shabu in this city, an
official said Wednesday.
Police director
Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre identified the respondents for violation of
Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of
2002 as Jomar Pantenas, Acob Anidal and Norma Lam.
Ecaldre said the
suspects were arrested Monday afternoon after his personnel and agents of the
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEAD) intercepted a shipment of the more
than P100,000 worth of shabu.
He said the suspects
were arrested after they claimed the package at the outlet of the courier firm
along Benigno Aquino Street in this city.
He said the suspects,
who were positively identified by an informant, were arrested after the police
received information about the shipment of the shabu.
He said the suspects
were placed under the custody of the PDEA in this city. (PNA)
