This activity is a time-honored military tradition to pay a visit at the beginning of the year upon the commander of the organization and seek his guidance for the coming year. It is also an opportunity for military personally to get reacquainted with each other and renew their commitment in pursuing the mandated mission as stated in AFP’s IPSP Bayanihan and thread the path of Good Governance and Performance excellence as stated in the Philippine Army Transformation Roadmap.

CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Jan 23, 2015) --–
The Commanding General of the Army’s Premier Infantry (Tabak) Division
Brigadier General Gerardo F Barrientos Jr
congratulated the Officers and men under his command for the successful and
peaceful 2014 which is a testament of the effectiveness of Division’s Internal
Peace and Security Operations (IPSP) Bayanihan during the traditional New
Year’s Call held at the Officers’ Clubhouse and Division Conference Room
respectively Wednesday.
Barrientos also added that Team Tabak will sustain
the gains of peace and development of the communities thru the support of the Local
Government Units and other stakeholders within their area of responsibilities.
The traditional New Year’s
Call was rendered to BGen Barrientos by his subordinate field commanders from
the Brigades and Battalions based in Western Mindanao. Brigadier General Ignacio Obligacion of 102nd
Infantry (IGSOON) Brigade based in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Province and
Brigadier General Glenn Macacero AFP of 103rd Infantry (HARIBON)
Brigade based in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur led the group together with
the General, Special, Personal Staff and
civilian employees.

During the Command
Conference, the Division Operations Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Yegor Rey
Barroquillo gave a comprehensive briefing on the overall assessment of the
Division’s Internal Peace and Security Operations. The conference was culminated by the Command
Guidance of BGen Barrientos for this year focusing on sustaining the gains in
bringing peace and development in Western Mindanao.
