Thousands of Tourists flocked to KAMAHARDIKAAN Feast in Tawi-Tawi

BONGAO, Tawi–Tawi, Mindanao, Philippines – Thousands of tourists coming from different provinces and cities in the Philippines flocked to the annual feast here in the Southern part of Mindanao to witness the week long cultural celebration last Sept.24 to 27. 2012.

The cultural parade of seaweeds dressed  in different costumes designed and styled by the local designers was a very popular and captivating parade ever in Mindanao said local tourist. 

The other highlights, the search of Budjang 2012 and the fluvial parade also gives the province popularity and dignified festivals  of the Philippines were both local and national tourists thumbs-up of their approval.






Governor Sadikul A. Sahali said that this annual event of the province is one of his efforts and legacy to the people because  he wants the province to be very popular when it comes to development, tourism, peace and order.

“I want everybody happy during my term, that’s why I gave all my support to the people of Tawi-tawi in order to uplift their living conditions by making more projects like farm-to-market-roads, water systems, airport, school buildings and among others,” governor added.  

There are more festivasl around the Philippines like the Ati-atihan in Ilo-Ilo, Sinulog in Cebu, Kinabayo in Dapitan, Tuna in General Santos City and the Kamahardikaan also one of the popular festival among them, said tourism. 



The Kamahardikaan Festival was created during the term of Governor Sadikul A. Sahali in order to look in some source of income wherein the province is benefited.

Last year, the Greece and Malaysian Ambassadors visited Tawi-Tawi to witness the said popular Kamahardikaan festival. Accordingly, Greece Ambassador said, the tradition in Tawi-tawi is very great that makes them popular. "The white beaches in the province and the other tourists destination are the same in Greece, that's why I feel I am home Governor, she stated during her speech.
