2 cops arrested for indiscriminate firing in Pagadian City

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur --- The Pagadian City Police Office had filed the inquest case to the City Prosecutors Office against the two policemen Monday morning after they were arrested Sunday, Police Official said.

Two policemen were arrested by the by the REACT Team of Pagadian City Police Force for Alarm and Scandal and indiscriminate firing of their issued firearms on Sunday at 3:30 AM along Sanson Street Corner F.S. Pajares Avenue, San Francisco District, Pagadian City.

Pagadian City Chief of Police Supt Glenn Dulawan identified the are two suspects policemen as P01 Razul Lawi y Alih, 32 years old, married Police officer presently assigned at Pitogo, Municipal Police Station, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur with home address at Port Area, Isabela City, Basilan Province and Po1 Ray Julius Santa Teresa Y dela Cruz, 29 years single, Police Officer assigned at Regional Public Safety Batallion-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) base in Police Regional Office (PRO-ARMM) in Parang, Maguindanao with home address at Brgy. Tumaga, Zamboanga City.

Dulawan said the responding Team proceeded to the crime scene following the series of gun burst heard at the police station but the two suspects were able to evaded the authorities but due to the help of the concerned citizen and Tricycle driver who were able witness the crime incident informed the responding police the where about to the suspects leading to their arrest.

Initial investigation at the crime scene, the police recovered seven pieces fired cartridge cases of 9mm. Some witnesses said that the two suspects had encountered hatred arguments with the Guest Relation Officer (GRO) Girls at the KTV Bar near the vicinity that resulted to the firing of firearms.

Police confiscated from the possession of Po1 Santa Teresa his government issued firearms (PNP Property) Glock 17 with Serial Number PNP23234 with magazine assembly and loaded with 5 pieces live ammunitions of 9mm.
