ZAMBOANGA CITY (Nov. 4, 2018) - The traditional observance of All Saints and All Souls Day in the Zamboanga Peninsula Region was generally peaceful and orderly, police official said.

PRO9 Regional Director, PCSUPT Emmanuel Luis D Licup said that no major untoward incident were recorded at the different cemeteries and place of convergences in the region during the two days event.

PCSUPT Licup attributed the generally peaceful and orderly situation to the advance preparations laid-out by all PNP units of PRO9 to secure all the cemeteries and to ensure the safety of motorists, commuters, and the public.

The Regional Director also recognized help of other law enforcement agencies, force multipliers, NGOs, the local government units, AFP counterparts and the citizenry for a peaceful celebration.
He also thanked the public for their cooperation and commended the entire police force in the region for a job well done.

Citing the data from the Regional Operation Center of PRO9, an estimated 120, 000 people marched to 203 cemeteries and memorial parks across the region. More than 200 police assistance hubs were established at the different cemeteries and places of convergence in the region manned by more than 2,000 police personnel.
