PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Oct.
9, 2018) – Another
Dawlah Islamiya/Maute member surrendered to Joint Task Force Ranao in Butig,
Lanao del Sur 5:00 p.m. Wednesday (October 10, 2018).
Capt. Clint
Antipala, Acting DPAO Chief disclosed that the Combined efforts of the 49th
Infantry Battalion, under the Joint Task Force Ranao, MILF-Adhoc Joint Action
Group (AHJAG) and local officials facilitated the surrender of the Maute
sniper.
The sniper,
also yielded his 7.62 Sniper Rifle to Lt. Col. Edgar Villanueva, the 49th
Battalion Commander, Capt. Custodial debriefing is still on-going as of this
posting, Antipala said.
Capt.
Antipala added that the Army’s Premier Division Chief Maj. Gen. Roseller
Murillo, Joint Task Force Zampelan commander, commended the troops, MILF-AHJAG
and local officials that assisted the surrender of Maute sniper.
“Collective efforts of various stakeholders is
very essential in the attainment of peace and prosperity in our area of
operation,” Maj.Gen. Murillo added.
On Tuesday,
seven Dawlah Islamiya/Maute members and supporters surrendered to 55th Infantry
Battalion, Joint Task Force Ranao in Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur, Capt. Antipala
also said,

also yielded three M1 Garand Rifle, one Carbine, four caliber 45 handguns, and one
