CITY (Dec. 6, 2018) -
Troops of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 3, Philippine Marine Ready Force
Sulu under the Joint Task Force Sulu in coordination with the Sulu Provincial
Police Office and intel units rescued the Indonesian Kidnap Victim Usman Yusuf
who was able to escape from his abductors at Sitio Tubig Bual, Barangay Bual,
Luuk, Sulu around 7:30am Thursday (December 06, 2018, WesMinCom official said.

Besana disclosed that Yusuf, 35 years old, was abducted at the seawaters off
Sempornah, Sabah, Malaysia aboard Malaysian fishing/trawler vessel last
September 11, 2018.
Besana said
that the subject rescued KV was then brought to Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista
Station Hospital for medical check-up after which he was presented to
Commander, Joint Task Force Sulu prior turn over to higher headquarters.

added that with the rescue of Usman Yusuf, number of kidnap victims are down to
6, 3 of which are foreigners and 3 are Filipinos.
“I commend the troops of the Joint Task
Force Sulu for their unfaltering conduct of intensified military operations
which bear outstanding accomplishments,” said Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela
