CITY (April 9, 2019)— The Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9) is
set to deploy around 3, 117 police officers in the region to ensure the peace
and order of the public particularly in areas of convergence and vacation and
tourist spots as part of the summer security plan dubbed as “Ligtas Sumvac
2019,” which the PNP officially launched on Tuesday April 2, 2019.

D Licup, PRO9 Director said that the uniformed police officers of PRO9 will be
deployed on public highways and at bus terminals, seaports, airports, and
tourist destinations in the region to guard against criminals who may take
advantage of the summer vacation and holy week celebration across the region.
Estimated around 1, 628 force
multipliers and volunteer groups in the region are also being tapped and
deployed to support the local police in securing different areas of
convergence, highways and tourist destinations, he said.
Meanwhile, the PRO9 Director reminded
the general public to always on alert and observant of their surroundings. He
also advised the public to immediately report to the nearest police station
regarding suspicious items or persons in their respective localities. He
assured the public that the police units are on standby and ready to respond to
