PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (June 5, 2021) - Maj. Gen. Bartolome Vicente Bacarro, Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army visited the Western Mindanao Command on June 4, 2021.
He was accorded with traditional military honors during his arrival
after which he paid a courtesy call to WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Corleto
Vinluan, Jr.
at the Bautista Lounge in Camp Navarro, Calarian, this city.
Maj. Gen. Bacarro expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome tendered by the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources of the command.
“It feels so good to be back here in WestMinCom after how many years. I was assigned here when I was a junior officer,” he relayed.
Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. on the other hand thanked Maj. Gen. Bacarro for
taking the time to visit the command.
Maj. Gen. Bacarro is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy “Maringal” class of 1988 along with Lt. Gen Vinluan, Jr.
He is considered as one of the country’s living heroes who received the highest military award: the Medal of Valor for his heroic combat exploits.
Maj. Gen. Bacarro then proceeded to Basilan to check on the situation and boost the morale of troops of the 68th Infantry Battalion at the unit’s headquarters inCampo Uno, Lamitan City.
