Brother of Bayog town Vice Mayor nab for illegal drug trade

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept 15, 2014-MPF News)) --- The joint forces of Police Provincial Intelligence Branch (PPIB), Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PAIDSOTF), Bayog Municipal Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) successfully arrested the brother of incumbent Vice Mayor of of the nearby municipality of Bayog, of this province for illegal drugs trade, Police Official said Monday.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Sofronio Ecaldre identified the arrested suspects as Julito Aragon Matias aka Dungol.

Ecaldre said Matias was arrested during the buy-bust operation on Saturday at 12:30 noon after he agreed to sell and deliver to a PDEA agent acted as poseur buyer of one heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance locally known as shabu in exchange for Php500.00 buy-bust money with an estimated weight of 0.01 gram.


Ecaldre added the law enforcers were also confiscated from the possession of the suspect 30 heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated total weight of 0.30 grams.

Suspect is now temporarily detained at PDEA locked-up cell while a case for violation of sec 5 and 11 Article II of R.A. 9165 is being prepared for filling in court.
