RTMI Bus driver face charges for reckless driving resulting to damage of property in Tungawan

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 6, 2014-MPF News) --- The Municipal Police Station (MPS) in the nearby town of Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay is set to file charges of Reckless Driving resulting to damage of property against the driver of Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI) Bus with body No.9336 and plate number JVN 797, Police official said.

Tungawan MPS Chief Senior Inspector Rico Baid Pondol said Friday that the complaint was filed by the passenger van driver Lexter Verba Y Bartolome, 24 years old, single and a resident of Barangay Putik, Zamboanga City against RTMI driver Marlon Pata Y Missal, 40 years old, married and a resident of Barangay Mabini, RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay following the vehicular accident.

Police initial investigation disclosed that on September 3 at about 11:30 AM both vehicles were on the same direction from Zamboanga City going to Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay and upon reaching along the National Highway of Purok Francisco, Barangay Langon in Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay the driver of RTMI Bus tried to overtake the passenger van causing the said bus to bumped/hit the rear portion of the passenger van..

No one was reportedly injured during the accident except the damaged at the rear portion of the passenger van, the Police Chief said.

Both vehicles were impounded and under the custody of Tungawan MPS for proper disposition of the case.
