PDEA, police seize P2.5-M shabu, arrest 3 drug pushers in Zambo Sur

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (Oct. 7, 2014-MPF News) --- At least a total of 17 packs of illegal drugs (Shabu) with estimated weight of more than 800 grams were seized and arrested 3 suspects by the joint forces of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Intelligence Branch of Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office and the members of Provincial Anti Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Force (PAIDSOTF) Monday afternoon, Police high ranking official said. 

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Director Senior Supt. Sofronio Ecaldre said the seized of illegal drugs and the arrest of 3 suspects was done Monday afternoon in a separate buy-bust operations along Benigno Aquino Street, Barangay Sta. Lucia Pagadian City and in the nearby municipality of Tukuran, of this province some 25 kilometers away east of Pagadian City.

In Pagadian City Ecaldre said at about 5:30 PM the joint operatives were successfully arrested during the buy-bust operations a certain Albadar Abdul y Alibasa 22 a resident of Barangay Bus-bus in Jolo, Sulu after he deliver the illegal drugs to the PFEA agent and police operatives who posted as poseur buyer of illegal drugs.


He said the government authorities also successfully confiscated from the possession of the suspect 11 packs of heat sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated weight of 550 grams.

The illegal drugs were place inside interior tube of motorcycle packaged with hard plastic contained in a black back-pack carried by the suspect, he disclosed.

While in Tukuran town, at about 5:50 PM the buy-bust operations jointly conducted by the government operatives also successfully arrested two suspects and seized 6 packs of sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated weight of 279 grams, he added.

The said illegal drugs were sealed inside the gift pack supposed to be delivered to a poseur buyer of illegal drugs, he also said.
    

Ecaldre identified the two suspects as Odeng Antanga Bashir aka “Odeng” 40, a resident of Barangay Inudarandos, Sapad, Lanao del Norte and Hilal Mindalano Bucay, 23 and a resident of Campo Ranao, Marawi City.

The Provincial Director said the confiscated illegal drugs estimated to worth Php2.5 Million are now deposited at the crime laboratory for examination while the 3 suspects are now temporary detained at the PDEA Lock-up cell while the case of violation of PD 9165 against the suspect is being prepared for filing in the Prosecutor’s Office.

Ecaldre also said the suspects are also scheduled to be presented to Governor Antonio Cerilles and to the members of the media in a press conference this morning.

The confiscation of illegal drugs Monday afternoon was considered as the biggest accomplishment so far conducted by the joint forces of the PDEA, Intelligence Branch of Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office and the members of PAIDSOTF.

It was learned that the PAIDSOTF was created by Provincial Government following their declaration of war against illegal drugs during the incumbency of Governor now the representative of 2nd Congressional District Aurora “Auring” Cerilles.

Gov. Tony Cerilles commended the joint forces in their effort of supporting the provincial government campaigned and declaration of war against illegal drugs that resulted the  arresting the 3 Big Time Drugs Traffickers in this part of Mindanao and the confiscation of more thatn 800 grams of illegal drugs.
