PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur, Dec. 6 (PNA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
here announced that Business Name Registration (BNR) in the province for the
past 11 months have already exceeded the annual target by 120 percent.
Roger Sarsalejo, DTI
Business Development Division head, said the BNR from January to November this
year have reached 1,554, or 263 higher than the annual target of 1,291,
representing 120 percent increase.
Sarsalejo attributed
the increase in the number of business registry to the cooperation of the local
government units (LGUs) to the BNR program implemented by the DTI in this
province.
This province, the
economy of which is predominantly agricultural, is comprised of one component
city and 26 municipalities.
Sarsalejo said the
increase in BNR is an indication of the province's good economic and business
climate.
He disclosed that BNR
only reached 860 last year.(PNA)
