The
International Committee on the Red Cross (ICRC) shares to their latest update
for Typhoon Haiyan (Yulanda) as they draw a close to more than a year of joint
emergency and early recovery operations in Samar between the the Philippine Red
Cross, Red Cross Official said.
Allison Lopez International Committee of the Red Cross Delegation
to the Philippines Communication officer said the ICRC is working to protect
and assist people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.
Highlights:
- Completion of nearly 4,500 storm-resilient shelters for the most vulnerable families in Samar
- Livelihood support for around 13,200 families
- Repaired 15 health facilities
- Restored water services or rehabilitated water systems for about 188,000 people
