Gov’t troops rescue 2 kidnap victims

PAGADIAN CITY – The joint operations of Philippine Army and Philippine National Police effectively thwarted the kidnapping of two female civilian victims after they successfully intercepted in a checkpoint and apprehended the kidnappers at So Nunucan, Brgy Maria Cristina, Iligan City around 11 o’clock yesterday morning, July 12, 2013.

The two victims identified as Kathlyn Jane Solamin Dapol and Jingle Bation Rebosora both married and from Iligan City are now in their family while the suspects are now in the custody of the PNP Iligan for filling of appropriate charges.

“We immediately set a checkpoint upon learning that kidnapping incident transpired at 3rd St. Palm Spring, Brgy San Miguel, Iligan City around 10:30 in the morning not far away from our headquarters,”  4th Mechanized Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Danilo Ibon said.

Police initial investigation disclosed, the victims were forcibly taken and grab by a certain Mark Cabaya Cruz Rebosora, 28 years old and Mr Rogelio Bation, 60 years old inside a Toyota Innova with plate number TPO 267 while they are walking in the area.

Meanwhile, Acting Commander of 1st Infantry Division BGen Felicito Virgilio M Trinidad Jr, lauded the quick response of the 4th Mechanized Battalion and the PNP in the area leading to the apprehension of the suspects.

“In time of needs, our people always look upon us to help them. Because they know that they are the reason why we are here and I applaud you for this successful operation, we helped and never failed them,” BGen Trinidad Jr., commended.
