SND-Lanao Norte LGUs turned-over 52 loose firearms and ammunition to Army’s 2nd Mechanize

SULTAN NAGA DIMAPORO, Lanao del Norte (June 15, 2018) - A total of 52 loose firearms surrender to Army’s 2^nd Mechanize Infantry Brigade under the leadership of LTC Robert Dauz Wednesday morning at the headquarters of 5^th Mechanize Infantry Battalion here.

The successful surrenders of loose firearms from 37 Barangay chairman in the municipality of Sultan Naga Dimaporo (SND) of Lanao del Norte province was a result of massive campaign of the military in the implementation of the national program of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte against loose firearms.

A simple program and turned-over ceremony of assorted loose firearms and 29 rounds of ammunitions LTC Ronel Manalo, commander of the Amry’s 5^th Mechanize Infantry Battalion expressed his gratitude to all the 37 Barangay Officials headed by SND Mayor Ulwan Dimaporo for the support and cooperation of the campaign.

"Ito ang pinakamaraming isinukong baril sa Lanao del Norte simula ng inilunsad ng pamahalaan ang kampanya kontra loose firearms," (This is the biggest firearms surrendered in Lanao del Norte province since the start of government campaign against of loose fireams), LTC Dauz also said.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa mamamayan ng SND dahil sa kanilang pagsunod sa panawagan ng ating gobyerno na isuko ang kanilang mga armas," (I would like to expressed my appreciation to the people for supporting the government campaign against loose firearms) SND Mayor Ulwan Dimaporo said.

Attended during the ceremony are the 37 Barangay Chairman, PNP Officials, Civil Society Organization Forum for Peace (CSO-FP) Jun Enriquez, private and Business organizations and members of the media. (With JONG CADION)
