Davao City got the highest in Swimming with 13-gold, 9-gold in Dancesport, 4 in Karatedo, 2-gold in Chess, Basketball, and 1-gold for Athletic, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Taekwondo and Softball.
Iligan City led in
Arnis with 6-gold, 5-gold in Swimming, 3-gold in Taekwondo and 2-gold in
Athletics and Karatedo.
Cerilles also
congratulated all the winners and likewise the athletes of Zamboanga del Sur
for showing the good performance for having number 11 out of 110 participating
LGUs,

PAGADIAN CITY,
Zamboanga del Sur (Sept. 16, 2014-MPF News) --- General Santos City got first with
43-gold, 35-silver and 29-bronze in the recently concluded Batang Pinoy
Qualifying Mindanao Leg 2014 held at the Provincial Government Center, Dao
Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur last September 10-14, 2014.
Zamboanga City got 2nd
placer with 43-gold, 31-silver and 37-bronze while Davao City got 3rd
with 36-gold, 23-silver and 27-bronze; Iligan City got 4th with 18-gold,
24-silver and 23-bronze and the 5th is Davao del Norte with 18-gold,
5-silver and 16-bronze.
GenSan gathered gold
in swimming with 12-gold got the highest in Muaythai and in and Boxing with 9-gold,
7-gold in Athletics, 3-gold in Dance sport and 1-golod for Wrestling, Table
tennis, and Arnis.
Zamboanga City got the
highest in Karatedo with 11-gold, 10-gold in Wristling, 6-gold in weightlifting,
5-gold in Swimming, Muaythai and Archery and 1-gold in Athletic.
Davao City got the highest in Swimming with 13-gold, 9-gold in Dancesport, 4 in Karatedo, 2-gold in Chess, Basketball, and 1-gold for Athletic, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Taekwondo and Softball.
Davao del Norte
gathered 8-gold in Swimming, 4-gold in Arnis, 3-gold in Taekwondo and 1-gold in
Athletic, Lawn tennis and Volleyball.
A total of one hundred
ten (110) local government units competed to twenty one (20) sports events
namely: Boxing, Archery, Weightlifting, Arnis, Karatedo, Taekwondo, Wrestling,
Muaythai, Chess, Dance sports, Athletics, Softball, Volleyball, Futsal,
Badminton, Lawn tennis, Sepak Takraw, Swimming, Table tennis, and basketball.
These are the
following LGUs in their final and official medal tally of the Batang Pinoy
2014 Mindanao Leg:

Self-discipline,
respect, hard work, team work, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and fair play are the
key to the success of the athletes in
their respective sports events from different provinces and cities of Mindanao
of the recently concluded Batang Pinoy 2014, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)
Batang Pinoy Project Director Atty Jay Alano said.
She added that it is
considered as a great success to the Province of Zamboanga del Sur for the
large number of athletes, coaches and technical officials as well as the
Philippine Sports Commission commends not only the sports facilities within the
Provincial Government Center but also for the warmth accommodation as well as
the assistance that the Provincial Government had provided for the delegates to
feel the convenience and comfort of the vicinity.

Antonio Cerilles also expressed his appreciation to the management of Batang
Pinoy 2014 qualifying Mindanao Leg for giving the province and the city of
Pagadian for hosting the sports activities.
