PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur (May
30, 2018) - A Philippine Air Force (PAF) UH-IH ‘Huey’ helicopter made an emergency
landing specifically at Bernardo’s farm Zone 8 of Brgy Ayala, Zamboanga City
Tuesday at 5:00pm.
Major Aristides Galang, PAF
spokesperson, disclosed that the chopper incurred problem on its tail rotter
blade while conducting training flight maneuver in Zamboanga City.
The helicopter took off from Edwin
Andrews Air Base at 3:30 p.m. and was on training maneuvers when it encountered
an ‘in-flight emergency’, Major Galang said. This forced the pilots and the
crew to made an emergency landing at Farm.
"The aircraft incurred damages but
the pilots and crew members were not injured. The PAF sent a team to conduct
investigation," Galan stressed.
The PAF operates 30 to 40 units of the
"Huey" helicopters for transport, supply and medical evacuation
